A Message From Esther (Bunny) Kang
Hi everyone, I've recently volunteered to be apart of UCLA's longest student run charity: UCLA UniCamp. Unicamp gives children from the ages of 5-17 from under served areas in Los Angeles a chance to experience a traditional summer camp. We immerse children in the outdoors and provide them with information, education, and experience with a variety of necessary life skills. They include but are not limited to health, fitness, and nutrition, leadership development and life skills, the importance of higher education, mentorship, educational support, and empowerment for the foster youth community.
UCLA UniCamp is especially important to me, because I've always known the importance of raising up and empowering the youth to become educated and influential members of society and UniCamp finally gives me the opportunity to do so.
Camp for each individual child can be up to $500 dollars, but counselors and UniCamp volunteers fundraise to subsidize that cost to around $75. If you can, please help me reach my goal by donating.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
