A Message From Mai Setoyama
Hi everyone! This is Mai, or also known as Mint Chip. This summer I am given the wonderful opportunity to participate in UCLA UniCamp as a camp counselor to help inspire kids to dream big and succeed.
UCLA UniCamp is a non-profit organization which helps send kids of underserved neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area
to a week of summer camp. My camp session, Session Expression, will also focus on teaching them the power of artful expression. Utilizing outcome based programs to focus attention on the process of art, campers learn core values for success. Arts and crafts, poetry, drama, and dance are all different art forms that campers will use to create a larger sense of engagement of their bodies and minds.
I truly believe that every child deserves a chance to have fun and enjoy the beauty of nature. Therefore, I am currently raising money to help cover the cost for a child to attend one week of this amazing summer camp. Any donations would be truly appreciated, as every single dollar helps!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
