A Message From Jennie Valenzo
This camp means the world to me, I was able to participate because of my Boys & Girls Club and it was the most life changing week. I was given confidence through UniCamp, they were my support for that week and to this very day. I have made countless friendships that I am still connected with. I began to see my worth as a person, I saw that I was not alone and I was able to grow from my own hard time as an adolescent. Up in the mountains we're able to see beauty beyond the city, we learn to love and appreciate the simple things around us. After my 2 years of camp I knew that I wanted to come back as a volunteer so I'm doing it! I'm here because I want children and young adults to know that they are wanted and accepted here. I'm going to be their support, just like UniCamp is still here to support me. It roughly takes about $630 to send a child to camp, so with donations and fundraising we are making it a little to no cost to send a child to camp, any donation is greatly appreciated!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
