A Message From Jackie Gaetos
Unicamp is an organization that helps send under-served youth to camp for a week in the summer. Before leaving UCLA, there's no other way I want to end my college career than by being a part of this organization! This will be my first summer participating but I already foresee all the amazing memories that I will be able to share.
The session that I'm participating in focuses on community building, youth empowerment, and social activism, and we are partnering with the organization The Village Nation. The Village Nation organization focused on helping African American students achieve both academically and holistically by providing a platform to take ownership of their identity and community. This week of camp will serve as a culmination of the efforts of TVN’s efforts throughout the school year.
But we need your help! I am pledging to raise $500 to send my kids to camp. As a camper, they will be able to get to know one another, recognize the leader within themselves and have an open dialogue about shaping our community and world.
If you would like to donate, I would truly appreciate your generosity! Thank you for all the love and support.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
