Family + Friends + Kind Acquaintances: Thank you in advance for helping UCLA UniCamp serve and empower over 1,000 students this summer! The core of what we do at UniCamp comes down to this motto: "It's for the kids." We connect the underserved Los Angeles youth with UCLA student volunteers through a week of camp in the San Bernardino mountains. We aim to inspire a passion for higher education and to give kids a chance to have a camp experience who normally may not have the means to do so. I have volunteered with UniCamp for the past four years, and this year I have the privilege of co-directing a week of camp. Our week will focus on S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). Through teaching STEAM concepts outside of the classroom, we hope to show the kids that these subjects are interesting, accessible and applicable to real life. We want the kids to walk out of our week of camp saying, "Wow! These subjects are so cool AND I can do them, I want to learn more!" But to run a week of camp, we need money, and that is where your kind hearts and generosity are key. Please, if you are able to, donate!
