A Message From Carly "Lynx" Calbreath
Our focus is on Expression, Empowerment, Community.
Expression: One of our goals is to create a space that allows campers to freely express themselves in order to develop different perspectives on their own lives and help connect to the world around them.
Empowerment: Being recognized for something that isn’t a test of their knowledge on an academic subject, but of what they have created themselves is very empowering and has a greater effect on the camper’s sense of self-worth.
Community: By utilizing their form of art and what they have learned during the week of camp they are able to bring it down the mountain in order to make an impact on their own communities.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
