A Message From Hubert Tran
This summer, I've been given the unique opportunity to be a camp counselor for UCLA UniCamp for the first time!
UniCamp is a non-profit organization and UCLA’s flagship volunteer program that sends underprivileged youth to summer camp for a week. Up at camp, we challenge and inspire these students that they can work beyond their full potential.
My session's focus is on leadership development and non-violent communication and through the programs and activities we have up in store for the kids up at camp, I hope to foster important values such as mindfulness, empathy, and the courage to stand up for their beliefs! Unicamp offers a unique outlet for these kids to make friends, sing songs, dance silly, and change their lives.
I've met and already made such lasting friendships with some of the most sincere and altruistic individuals here at my time in Unicamp, and I'm confident that my campers will have the chance to do the same! This summer I will be working with students primarily from Dana Middle School, HYPE LA, and Determined to Succeed!
I cannot wait to experience the Woodsey magic up at camp, and I'm hoping you join me in helping to subsidize the cost of camp for one child through your donations!
I thank you for your boundless generosity and your great big hearts ^_^
