A Message From Mahliya Purificacion
Hi! My name is Mahliya, and I have the amazing opportunity this year of working as a camp counselor with UCLA's Unicamp.
UniCamp is a non-profit that works with low-income and underserved communities to send about 1,000 kids to camp throughout each summer. Specifically, I'm working with session Transitional Youth Empowerment, which aside from providing the normal camp experience, will also help children within the foster care system to develop the skills and resources needed to attend and graduate college. My past experiences with summer camp have become an integral part of who I have become today, and I'm excited to get to participate in such a formative experience as a counselor.
Each volunteer in UniCamp works to fundraise $450 in order to subsidize the cost of attending camp for our campers. I would greatly appreciate any help, be it in the form of donations (they're tax deductible!) or in spreading the word. Thank you so much!

UniCamp is the official charity of UCLA students. Founded in 1934, UniCamp is an independently funded non-profit org that links the University with the community and is UCLA's longest-running tradition. We are made up of students, alumni, and past campers that are now volunteers. We act as leaders whom are driven to support kids from underserved backgrounds to give them the joyous experience of camp!
