A Message From Lynn "Mustang" Chu
This year will be my 3rd year volunteering with UCLA UniCamp, an organization that has been one of my most rewarding experiences at UCLA and even after graduation. For those of you who might not be familiar with the organization, UniCamp is UCLA's official student charity and has been in operation for over 77 years. We serve kids from the greater Los Angeles area and fundraise to keep the cost of our camp affordable. Annually we bring up over 1,000 campers to UniCamp and we have over 400 UCLA students that train, fundraise and volunteer their time for this cause.
WHAT IS C.L.I.M.B.
Within UniCamp are several Older Camper Program, one of which is called CLIMB (Core Lessons in Mind and Body). As a CLIMB advisor, I will be working with a group of 10-15 high school students who will be going up to Big Bear to learn the hard skills of outdoor climbing, rappelling and slacklining as well as the soft skills of leadership, teamwork and pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones.
Check out the video below to hear the experiences from three of our amazing campers.

In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
