A Message From Jennifer Nguyen
Why do I volunteer to train for over 100 hours, to go live in the forest for 8 days without showering, to put myself through the stress and tears? Why do I choose to do this? My answer is “for the kids.”
Unicamp. I've never felt so touched and inspired. I never thought that I would be able to make such a big difference in peoples' lives. I put myself out there and became a strong leader to 9 girls. It touches me so much to hear one of my girls tell me, "Cheerios, this is the best week of my life. You've made such a big difference. You are the only one that can understand me and you give me the best advice ever. I don't want to leave. I'll miss you so much." I can't help but cry. It's a mix of emotions from feeling sad that I have to leave these kids to feeling extremely proud of myself for not only accomplishing, but going beyond my goals. I've never been so proud of myself. Unicamp has made me into such a strong and wonderful individual. I can't help but deeply thank those who were there with me through this experience and the entire organization itself.
