A Message From Sidney (Turtle) Ortega
You thought last year was my last year? It's okay, I thought so too. I'm back again but this year as the UniCorps Program Director! I was a UniCorps Advisor in 2017 and what's special about this program is the people, the kids, and the purpose of the program. High school aged kids are much different than middle school. Their maturity and leadership skills truly develop through their service learning projects during their week of camp. There are many reasons why I love this program but let me just name a few: witnessing their personal growth and being like their older sibling. These are the most rewarding parts of the week. I want to continue to provide many weeks of camp for so many high schoolers in the greater LA area, just like all the past program directors have. In addition, I want the advisors to experience everything and more that I did in 2017. Help me do so by donating! I appreciate you for reading this and considering donating to me, any amount helps! SO MWL, Turtle
