A Message From Kylie Sullivan
I am volunteering for UCLA's UniCamp and need your help to do so.
Sailing has become a very big part of my life in the last couple years. Since learning to race, 3 years ago in San Diego, I have been able to find many more opportunities to stay involved at UCLA. Last year I got involved with UCLA UniCamp’s “Sailing Adventures Inspiring Leadership Program” (S.A.I.L) Program, where in one week, I was able to help in exposing nearly one hundred kids to the sport that means so much to me. It was a remarkable experience and I am privileged to get to volunteer in this program again this year.
The SAIL program incorporates a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) to Stern course where our campers will not only learn to sail, but will take a school course that teaches the science behind how sailing works. In the week at camp over the summer, our campers will become mentors to the younger kids, both on and off the water. Sailing allows such a great platform to promote leadership and teamwork through mechanics while bringing joy to the campers, as many of them enjoy their first ever experience on a boat up at camp.
The vast majority of campers would not be able to participate without sponsorship, so besides for the costs of boat maintenance and fees, donations are primarily used to help grant more children the opportunity to attend UniCamp. I have set a personal goal of $1500 to raise by my week of camp this summer, and would greatly appreciate any help to work towards my goal.

In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
