A Message From Ashra Tugung
Hi everyone! In my first year at UCLA, I’ve been granted the awesome opportunity to participate in UniCamp. UniCamp is UCLA’s official charity organization that fundraises to subsidize the cost for a child from at risk areas in Los Angeles to go to camp for a week. Students pay $99 for a week a camp while we fundraise the rest of the payment to sponsor a child for a life changing week at UniCamp.
As a volunteer this year, I undergo nearly 100 hours of training in the midst of all the crazy that is college. I have dedicated myself to this because I am volunteering for Session 4, Anti-Bullying. This session will work to combat bullying by means of promoting tolerance and acceptance among our campers. I first hand have seen how bullying has become a bigger issue among youth, especially with the introduction of “Cyber-Bullying.” At this week of camp, we will provide our campers an experience to increase their knowledge and awareness of bullying while nurturing their leadership and cooperation skills to send them off with the tools to be an advocate and teacher to others in their respective communities.
I ask that you please help me send a child to camp for week by helping me reach my $480 fundraising goal or even just sharing this page to any of your friends and family! If you have any questions about UniCamp, feel free to reach out to me and I’d be happy to answer any questions!
Thank you for your interest and time. God Bless.
P.S. Because UniCamp is a charity, your donation can count as a tax deductible!

In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
