A Message From Esmeralda Garcia

Hi friends! Serving as a counselor for the first-time last year was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had at UCLA. Wanting to have more of an impact, this year I am humbled to serve as a UniCorps Advisor. UniCorps is an Older Camper Program that focuses on leadership, service learning, and educational awareness. Campers engage in community service projects and lead younger campers in outcome-based programs. I'm excited about this new opportunity, but I know I cannot do it alone. In order to reach more campers, I need your support to reach (and hopefully exceed) my fundraising goal. Those of you who know me, know I am passionate about education, which is why I am honored to be a member of the Social Justice Activism Initiative. UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
