A Message From Jessica Hernandez

Camp has helped served much of Los Angele's youth over the years, myself, included. We aim to reach the hearts and minds of our underprivileged communities via the children to help empower and strengthen them. This year, I have joined session TYE (Transitional Youth Empowerment) to help Foster Youth. We will help teach them to become comfortable in taking on Leadership positions by both speaking up and listening to others. We also provide a safe space for them to do so away from the stresses of what city life can bring. Through this program they can connect with other Bruins and dedicated volunteers such as myself as we work to build a trusting and supportive bond. If you can, please help by donating! UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
